Yesterday I purchased a couple Christian music CD's at my local LifeWay Christian bookstore. One was HIllsong's United CD and another was Chris Tomlin. Both came with bonus DVD's. On the Chris Tomlin DVD, during the "How Great is our God" concert tour, Louie Giglio, a pastor/evangelist and founder of Choice Ministries and Passion Conferences, speaks wonderfully to the crowd about the glories of science and how the heavens proclaim his majesty. He also talks about the human body and how we are "wonderfully and fearfully" made, in the image and likeness of God.

At one point he was talking about how at one conference he had happened to meet a guy who came up to him and introduced himself to Louie. They get to talking and Louie tells him about his upcoming series about the human body and how we are "wonderfully and fearfully" made. The guy says, "Well, that's great, because I'm a molecular Biologist down the street at the University. Why don't you show me your talk?" Louie says that he couldn't believe it, but was very nervous, thinking, "Well, it's not quite ready for a molecular Biologist to look over." But he shows him what he had, and the Biologist asks him, "Ok, where's your left hook? You have to have a left hook, to slam dunk the speech." Louie said that he didn't have one, so the Biologist tells him, "Oh man, your left hook has GOT to be Laminin." Louie was thinking, "Ok, Laminin, yea that's it, I'm gonna go talk about Laminin, whatever that is, and that's gonna start a revolution, a revival to sweep all across the land, yea, that's it." ha ha.

But the Biologist says, "No, you must go home and google Laminin, look it up for yourself., you have to SEE Laminin" So excited, but not thinking it was going to be that big of a deal, he goes home and googles Laminin, and to his astonishment the first picture he sees, is the first one to the right. The molecular structure of Laminin. In the shape of a cross!!!

Now what is Laminin, you ask? According to wikipedia:

"Laminins are the major non-collagenous component of the basal lamina, such as those on which cells of an epithelium sit.[1] They are a family of glycoproteins that are an integral part of the structural scaffolding of basement membranes in almost every animal tissue. Laminins are secreted and incorporated into cell-associated extracellular matrices. They are shaped like a cross."

In essence, they are a certain type of protein, and they are the glue that holds us together. Without Laminin, there would be no cell adhesion.

Louie goes on to quote Paul's letter to the Collosians:

"1 Colossians 16 &17 says, "For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him. He is before all things, and in him all things hold together.""

Isn't that wonderful? I know there will be skeptics here, doubters, scoffers who will say so what? It could have been any shape! But it wasn't. The Crucifixion of Jesus was only 2000 years ago. Mankind and the animals are many thousands of years older than that, millions if you believe the Evolutionists. So long before the crucifixion ever took place, there was laminin in our bodies, millions of little crosses holding our bodies together. I don't know about you, but to me, it is just one more piece of the puzzle that is God. There are those who will call it coincidence, as they call everything that points to God, as they must, if they wish to remain an Atheist. But at what point, how many so called "coincidences" would it take for you to believe?

The third picture is a Hubble Telescope image of the center of the Whirlpool galaxy, a black hole. It is 31 million light years away from us on here on Earth. Just another coincidence?! As the recent title of a fellow viner's seed said, "You can't make this stuff up." Christians are not making this stuff up. You can go to Nasa's own page and see this image.

So I ask you. Just another coincidence? Or is it more proof for the wonderful majesty that is God!!

I don't know if you are being serious or not!

Actually though, after several months have passed since I wrote this, looking back on this, I have come to the conclusion that this is probably one of the stupidest things I have ever contributed to Newsvine since I've been here, and I've contributed some pretty stupid stuff.

I will write more about this later, but I truly believe that my religious upbringing has rendered me psychologically impaired in many ways. How else to explain that I could actually write something like this and then 5 months later wonder what the hell was I thinking? This article is NOT me, not who I am, not how I believe at all. I was thinking of deleting this article and others like it, but I think I will just leave it up as a testament to the psychosis that religion can bring.

I know there will be those who will laugh at the ol' Phaedrus for changing his mind YET again, but unless a person was raised the way I was raised, it is difficult to understand.

I'd just like to add that our faith should not be swayed in one direction or another by the claims of science. What if it would possible that in a couple years we would find out that the shape of this molecule is not actually a cross? What if it just appeared to be such because of the limitations of our current observation methods?

Yes, it looks like a cross - as do many other things in this world. I have even seen clouds in the shape of a cross. But I do not need to look at a black hole picture, or laminin for proof of God's existence. To me the very existence of life here suggests that there was some form of outside force that created what is seen. Has anyone seen anything appear out of nothing, without any matter in which to make that something appear? And if two molecules traveling through the universe and colliding together caused it all, then what started that to happen? Certainly something - or some One, some outside force. It just takes more faith to believe that we just appeared out of nowhere with no outside force creating us, than it does to believe in the existence of God. Romans 1:18-23 in the New Living Translation says: But God shows his anger from heaven against all sinful, wicked people who suppress the truth by their wickedness.*19 They know the truth about God because he has made it obvious to them.20 For ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. Through everything God made, they can clearly see his invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse for not knowing God. 21 Yes, they knew God, but they wouldn't worship him as God or even give him thanks. And they began to think up foolish ideas of what God was like. As a result, their minds became dark and confused.22 Claiming to be wise, they instead became utter fools.23 And instead of worshiping the glorious, ever-living God, they worshiped idols made to look like mere people and birds and animals and reptiles. 24 So God abandoned them to do whatever shameful things their hearts desired. I just read this website and it's comments and am astonished by the 'hate and anger' coming from a certain individual as he/she has made CONTINUOUS negative comments, just to be heard. This person obviously has their own issues and wants to share them with the rest of us by writing into this site. However, there are others that only wish to share their own 'positive' experiences and enjoy the findings of the existence of God.
The individual writing in is a name-calling, very negative person and I am sure if we followed him in life, we would see this is how he operates with most people (not that I would ever want to follow a person like this around). I found this site to be a positve 'enlightment' to the existence of God and I think that is a personal and individual experience. If someone does not agree with this site, then you should go away and practice the 'darker side of life'.

there are several different crosses, one is the traditional cross that we see used for Christ, shaped like a lower case T ( † ).... another is one that is shaped like an upper case T... then we have the St. Andrews Cross, which is used on several flags, Englands and the U.S. Confederate flag, which may or may not have had angles at 90 degrees ( or 100 deg metric) then there is the St. Peters Cross, and it also has two versions, one which is like the upside down lower case T, and the other would be a broken cross, which a lot of folks called the PEACE sign, and some call it the Witches Broom or satans cross (one vertical line, with the branchs on the lower half of the vertical at about a 45 deg down ward, forming a claw shaped emblem.... not all crosses were set for 90 deg. and not all were upright.

I have to agree though, that we do not have to look at microscopic pictures to know that God does in fact exist. for the spider that was around thousands of years ago, is still here, and it has not changed, and the monkey, well, if it had evoloved, how come we still have monkeys? and fish? why are there still fish? shouldn't they have all come out of the water by now? the horseshoe crab, thought for a long time to have been extinct, still exist, how there are other creatures that still exist that existed thousands of years ago, and have not changed one little bit in structure......

Even the Constilations tell the story of the Word of God.

The Word of God is such that those that are of a carnal mind will look at it as being foolish, yet, God confounds those that are wise unto themselves..... was Katrina just a coincidence? or was Katrina just a token of what could come to pass for going against Israel?

when ever Israel is in a conflict, is it just coincidence that they seem to always hold their own? even when greatly out numbered?

a peson looking for signs will never see the signs that show the truth, even God told us that we need not be looking for signs, that we need to be looking to Him.....

GOD IS ALIVE AND WELL...... just look around and see Him in all His Glory.... sometimes we think too much, and it is just a simple thing, to have God dwelling in you is so much better then not having Him.

Time as we know it is short, by just looking around you can see the Word of God coming to life right before your eyes, the words have been there for a couple thousand years at least, some have been there for 4000 plus years and are still alive this day. prophecy is....IS.... being fulfilled right before our eyes...

DONT TAKE MY WORD FOR IT........READ IT ON YOUR OWN..... SEE WHAT I AM SAYING IS TRUE.

Read it, and see what God has instore for Israel and the rest of the world, the believers and the unbelievers.... it will come to pass.

God said, those that bless Abraham, will be blessed.... Israel is the promise to Abraham, and thus, those that bless Israel, will be blessed, those that curse Israel, will be cursed.... God is standing with Israel even this day.

Science has yet to prove that life can come from anything other then creation.... when science trys to disprove something, science ends up proving God does exist....... science does not exist with out God....

Ok if you go through enough photos you'll see what your looking for. But only those who believe anyway get anything from those photos. The x or t or cross as you call it is a basic simple model that's see everywhere and is easy to make, two straight lines laid across each other. This is the same as Jesus on a cracker, we see what we want. Oh look at the frozen water falls, wait there three of them it must mean the trinity of God; fall to knees and give life to Jesus. See what I mean? That's not the same as like what i mean.

Now tell me why did God wait two thousand years to let us see such things? Why did he create some people who won't believe before they die? Why did God not send his word into every part of the world, china? Why do people believe in stuff that could be true in any sort of the imagination? If we are the best that God can create He deserves to be reviled not worshipped!

Do you believe the earth was perfect before we sinned? You do know the devil was there on earth hunting an unprotected humans while God was off doing his on thing. Adam and Eve being deprived of knowledge were unequipped by design to deal with Satan yet Satan was allowed in and who took the blame? We did. Was it our fault? No Why? Because we couldn’t know what we did was bad. Sure God told us not to eat from the tree but we didn’t know it was bad and since it was perfect we trusted everything. It’s like putting a 2 year old by a busy highway and telling them to play just don’t go into the road, and when it does you blame the kid! And punish him for the rest of his life. If we are fallen creatures it’s God’s fault. He even admits it sort of by killing most of us with a flood, and still he can’t make a population to believe in him let alone worship him. He’s a failure and a coward pure and simple. We since God doesn’t exist the accusation fall on His followers.
